We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Accountant to oversee and manage the financial functions of our organization. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Based in Bakersfield, California, this opportunity allows you to collaborate with leadership and contribute to the organization's fiscal stability. Responsibilities:• Prepare and manage journal entries to ensure accurate financial recordkeeping.• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure all accounts are balanced and up-to-date.• Conduct thorough account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.• Oversee the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to maintain financial integrity.• Collaborate with leadership and the Board of Directors to develop and monitor budgets.• Administer and track operating budgets to ensure organizational adherence.• Manage cash flow and control financial activities for operational efficiency.• Prepare and issue detailed financial statements and reports on a regular basis.• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and not-for-profit financial regulations.• Support adherence to US GAAP standards in all accounting practices.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related financial roles. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records. • Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and account reconciliation. • Experience in reconciling balance sheet accounts with attention to detail. • Familiarity with US GAAP standards and their application in accounting practices. • Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage budgets and financial reports. • Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and laws. • Collaborative skills to work effectively with leadership and stakeholders.
