<p>Tammy Power, Recruiting Manager with Robert Half, is working with a well-established construction company that is seeking an experienced Controller. This individual will oversee the company’s accounting operations, provide financial leadership, and partner closely with ownership and project management to drive profitable growth. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to bring both technical accounting expertise and business acumen to the role.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, job cost accounting, and fixed assets.</li><li>Manage and streamline month-end and year-end close processes; prepare financial statements, management reporting packages, and analysis for leadership.</li><li>Implement and maintain job cost tracking to ensure accurate project profitability reporting and budget-to-actual comparisons.</li><li>Partner with project managers and operations to provide financial insights, track project performance, and forecast cash flow needs.</li><li>Lead preparation of annual budgets and forecasts; monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis.</li><li>Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, and industry-specific regulations.</li><li>Develop, document, and enhance internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures.</li><li>Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing training and oversight to ensure accuracy and efficiency.</li><li>Serve as point of contact for external auditors, banks, bonding companies, and insurance providers.</li><li>Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements, including potential ERP upgrades.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Contact Tammy Power via LinkedIn for immediate and confidential consideration.</strong></p>

<p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.</li><li>7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in a construction industry controllership or senior accounting leadership role.</li><li>Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job cost, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.</li><li>Proficiency in construction-specific accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage 300, Procore, QuickBooks for Construction) preferred.</li><li>Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across operations and finance.</li><li>Hands-on manager comfortable working in both detail-level accounting and high-level strategic reporting.</li></ul><p><br></p>
