Some of your key responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Owning the month-end close process, including reporting and commentary</li><li>Reviewing systems and processes and suggesting improvements (a strong continuous improvement mindset)</li><li>Providing commercial &amp; financial analysis to support business decisions</li><li>Building financial models to monitor costs, revenue, and invoicing</li><li>Budgeting, forecasting, and profit improvement initiatives</li><li>Ensuring compliance with NZ accounting standards and managing the audit process</li><li>Supporting ad-hoc projects as needed</li><li>Mentoring a small yet capable team</li></ul><p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Your Profile</span></strong></p><p>Ideally, I am looking for someone from a commercial background in a fast paced, high growth environment (SAAS would be great). Notwithstanding that, you will have a mixture of technical accounting nous and commercial acumen. The right candidate will understand what "good" looks like and will be able to bring that mentality to this business. Some other criteria include:</p><ul><li>CA or CPA qualification (ideal)</li><li>A desire to interact and partner the wider business</li><li>A continuous improvement mindset (think automation and AI)</li><li>An ambitious self-starting personality</li><li>Someone who is career minded and is eager to learn</li></ul><p>This role is based centrally. They have an office first culture but grant their staff a high degree of autonomy and flexibility as well.
