Giving Back to Our Community

A few weeks ago, we discussed the importance of corporate philanthropy programs and how job seekers want to work for companies that give back.  Well, we took our own advice and our teams throughout the tri-state area amped up their community involvement this holiday season.  Our employees covered all areas of giving from organizing food and toy drives to volunteering and had an absolute blast doing so!  By reaching out to some incredible local non-profit organizations, we truly felt we were able to make a difference in our community this year.

Our teams in Central New Jersey led by Regional Manager, Christine Rowe, organized an employee fundraiser to help make a donation (which our company matched!) to The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.  Our donation helped to provide meals that fed over 2,000 families in Central New Jersey over the holidays!  Additionally, they also ran a very successful toy drive where all toys were donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County, which supplied gifts to children from both the Red Bank and Asbury Park locations.  On a daily basis these two clubs provide programs to help keep over 1,800 children and teens safe and realize their full potential.

Highlights from our toy drive for the Monmouth County Boys & Girls Clubs.  Not only did our employees donate toys, but many of our candidates and clients generously chipped in, too!

In New York City, members of our Accountemps Division spent an afternoon volunteering at the New York City Rescue Mission.  Staffing Executive, Erik Santos, rounded up the team to participate as kitchen and dining room volunteers for a day serving hot meals to those in need at their location on Lafayette Street.  On average, this wonderful organization provides a total of nearly 600 meals a day for those who come into the Mission!

Led by Robert Half Finance & Accounting Division Director, Lindsay Plifka, employees from five of our North Jersey branches partnered with local nonprofit, Pass it Along, for their annual Christmas in the City Event – a holiday toy collection that is distributed to inner city children through the House of Mercy Mission in Newark.  Our staff not only donated a multitude of toys, but they also volunteered bringing toys and gifts directly into the children's classrooms along with cupcakes and juice boxes.

We received a special thank you from one of the classrooms we were paired up with for the Pass it Along Christmas in the City event.  It was a pleasure to see all of their smiling faces!

Our Robert Half team had a wonderful time participating in all of these fun local community events – we hope that we were able to pass on as much holiday spirit as we gained from our involvement.
