A Law clerk or Legal Clerk is responsible for maintaining electronic and manual systems where cases, evidence and records are organized and filed. Law Clerk candidates should have excellent organizational skills and proficiency with basic computer programs, and adhere to strict confidentiality rules.

Typical duties of a Legal Clerk:

  • developing and maintaining organized filing systems, organizing files and case documents,
  • keeping track of discovery documents, preparing records to be sent off-site for storage
  • assisting the legal team with document requests and file creation, and disposing of files in accordance with established document retention procedures
