Remember to Recognize Your Legal Support Professionals

Every legal office depends on its hardworking legal support professionals to keep calendars current, files in order, and phones answered — among many other things. On this Administrative Professionals Day, April 22, don’t forget to celebrate the legal support staff whose efforts do so much to keep your office working seamlessly.

Administrative Professionals Day, an annual workplace observance spearheaded by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) since 1952, provides a great opportunity to thank the legal secretaries, legal assistants, and other support staff who are such an important part of your team.

A recent OfficeTeam survey points to the importance of employee recognition: Nearly nine in 10 senior managers said their company is effective at recognizing employees. But three in 10 workers felt their firm isn't good at showing staff appreciation and more than half of workers said it was at least somewhat likely they would leave their jobs if they didn't feel appreciated.

Take a moment to think about ways to help your staff stay energized and engaged. And while you’re at it, you may want to consider encouraging these hardworking legal professionals to plan their vacations!
