Description
My client is a fast-growing global investment firm headquartered in Washington, DC that is looking for a Fund Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a background in Big 4 public accounting and/or working directly in fund accounting in the world of private equity or asset management.

Fund Accountant/Associate duties may include:

- Support the overall administration of portfolio funds
- Review, prepare, and/or manage data and financials (including transactions) tied to fund and investment management
- Document financial information tied to fund transactions
- Oversight of utilization levels, communicate with associated internal and external parties as necessary
- Participate in capital calls
- Calculate performance returns and prepare cash forecasts
- Work directly with key external parties on loan administration, documentation review, and settlements
- Work directly with internal compliance personnel to assure proper compliance at all times and accurate regulatory actions/filings
- Review, analyze, and calculate metrics tied to fund performance, preparing reports as needed
- Participate in accounting close for funds on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Provide input and assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Work alongside tax team on tax return prep and tax provisions
- Assist external auditors on requests for supporting financial information/documentation
- Provide financial analysis and ad hoc project support as needed
Requirements
Candidates for the Fund Accountant/Associate position should meet some or all of the following requirements:

- Bachelor?s Degree in business-related field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, General Business Studies, etc.)
- Licensed CPA or CPA progress highly preferred, Masters coursework (MBA, Masters in Finance, or Masters in Accounting) to be considered in lieu
- 2-6 years of experience in Financial Services, Big 4 accounting and/or Private Equity experience highly preferred
- Sound foundation in GAAP, preferably as it relates to financial services transactions
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills
- Team-oriented mentality and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
