Description
Our client, a governmental entity, is in search of an experienced Senior Accountant. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant opportunity is located in Downtown Seattle and will offer a great great professional experience along with attractive compensation. We are need of a Senior Accountant with proven analytical skills that enjoys the thrill of working in a fast paced environment.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

- Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

- Compose Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Realize compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners

- Implement monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GASB

- Other projects as required

- An endless desire to improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Put together monthly consolidated P L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Requirements
Senior Accountant Requirements:

- A strong track record of communicating, both verbally and in writing, with functional department managers

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- Efficient in ERP systems

- Top notch analytical, quantitative, and social skills

- 5+ years of overall general accounting experience

- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

- Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

- Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

- Candidates that are proficient in financial reporting may be most suitable for this opportunity

- Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired

- Self-starter and strong ethical standards

- Adeptness in account reconciliation

- General ledger experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of bank reconciliations

- Experience with Microsoft Excel

- Foundational knowledge in financial auditing

- Knowledge of journal entries
