Robert Half Legal seeks an experienced Patent Paralegal for the Intellectual Property practice of a leading AmLaw100 law firm in their downtown San Francisco office (near BART/Transbay Terminal/Ferry Building). This is a direct-hire opportunity. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparing and filing of patent applications and responses with the USPTO and PCT, monitoring the docket for deadlines and action items, corresponding with and updating clients and foreign associates regularly re status of applications, and IP portfolio maintenance.

Qualifications include 2+ years of good domestic patent prosecution experience, smarts, proactive, and confidence, as well as strong work ethic and superior customer service skills. Our very well-regarded law firm client offers an annual base salary of $90,000 - 110,000 (37.5 hrs/wk), DOE, yearly bonus, and excellent benefits (comprehensive medical/dental/vision benefits, 4 weeks PTO, 10 paid federal holidays, and 2 floating holidays, 401k, generous profit sharing plan, etc.).

- 5+ years of patent prosecution experience desired, minimum of 2 years are required
- Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity
- Attention to detail and accuracy, confidentiality
- Strong familiarity with invention disclosures
- Intellectual property law experience
- Experience with USPTO filings
- Proven knowledge of USPTO searches
- Foundational knowledge in Patent - US Prov - Utility - Des - PCT
- Exceptional communication skills that provide the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with a high customer service orientation
- Capable of taking ownership of projects, planning and organizing
