Description

As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Key responsibilities
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
- Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
- Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
- Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Requirements
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Strong familiarity with variance analysis
- Supervising experience is required
- General familiarity with revenue reporting
- Account analysis experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of budget forecasting
- Financial modeling experience desired
- Job costing experience highly desired
- Good understanding of contracts
- Adeptness in financial reporting
- Command of financial analysis
- Background working with cash flow management
- Practical knowledge of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
- Self-starter and strong ethical standards
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- CPA/MBA preferred
- BA/BS in Accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
