Description
Robert Half Finance is searching for a determined Controller who is eager to contribute their skill to a distinguished Manufacturing company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. Based in the Riverside, California area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position.

What you get to do every single day

- Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis

- Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

- Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

- Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

- Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll

- Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations

- Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

- Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- Well-founded grasp of financial statement preparation

- Proficiency in month end closings

- Proven knowledge of financial planning

- Financial analysis experience highly desired

- Variance analysis experience

- Job costing experience desired

- Expertise in standard costs

- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
