Description
Apply your passion for creating and defining systems scope and objectives and your mastery of software and applications programming and industry requirements to this Programmer Analyst role in the Financial Services field from Robert Half Technology. You would provide guidance on developing or altering applications or databases, employing research and fact-finding techniques. This is a long-term temporary Programmer Analyst role based in Omaha, Nebraska.

What you get to do every day:
- Provide continuing support for end users and other partner groups through continuing training and assistance for a specific application, system or process
- Build dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst, and ensures they are up to date
- Build and test programming changes for each phase of systems development prior to implementation. Writes test cases and expected results. Reviews results for conformance to requirements. May plan simple tests or a defined subset of a larger system test. May make recommendations for acceptance/rejection if requirements are not all met
- Collaborate on establishing communication materials for specific system changes being implemented in production
- Assist internal clients with applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting programming problems. Provides consultation that can include troubleshooting and/or education
- Analyze processing procedures. Develop recommendations for improvements
- Review and document code problems, working with other programmers to correct them
- Analyze user requests for systems changes or improvements. Document functional requirements and assesses cost, feasibility and utility. Develops recommendation as to how, when or whether to proceed with making the changes

Requirements
?Bachelor?s degree in computer engineering, computer science, math, physics, chemistry, or other technical related field
?Excellent math and quantitative skills
?Knowledge in COBOL
?Knowledge in DB2 is a plus
?Knowledge in Visual Basic, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and SQL Server is a plus
