Description
Controller needed for established and respected oil gas services company in Odessa, TX
Duties will include:

Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; ensure employees are adhering to such policies and procedures.
Partner with executive team to ensure development of a well-controlled enterprise, identifying opportunities to enhance process and controls across all business areas.
Ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting in compliance with US GAAP and that the right processes are in place to deliver financial statement integrity in accordance with organization timelines.
Ensure the timely and accurate financial reporting and accounting close for business segments including the preparation and consolidation of internal and external financial statements for the business
Maintain documentation of GL transactional accounting and entries in the system as well as reconciling balance sheet accounts
Coordinate accounting close activities and financial reporting for operations and liaison with parent company accountants/auditors
Analysis of monthly balance sheet and P L account activity as well as cash flow analysis including preparation of working capital and cash forecasts
Ensure the following: accounts payable are paid in a timely manner, all reasonable discounts are taken on AP and periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
Lead the preparation of the monthly reporting package to the leadership team (coordinate with appropriate parties, as appropriate); implement improvements, as needed.
Work with the Accounting Manager to manage, mentor, teach and train employees in the GL, Payroll, AR and AP areas.

Understand productivity of existing accounting resources and functions across the company and identify opportunities to enhance scalability/value/accuracy/speed; Develop dashboards to identify the efficiency and appropriate staffing of each department.
Manage/lead the external audit process working closely with external auditors.
Focus on improving Net Working Capital (primarily AR and AP) by understanding and optimizing the order to cash process where appropriate.

Microsoft Office, ViewPoint
Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge.
Ability to communicate effectively and effect positive change. Must be able to positively influence and communicate complex accounting or financial information in an understandable manner.
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Self-motivated and self-directed
Bachelor?s and/or Master?s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting
Active CPA is preferred but not a must
5 years + experience in public accounting and/or experience as a Controller preferred
7 years+ experience in a professional accounting and / or accounting management role.
