Interim Project-Based Financial

A dynamic, fast-growing food and agriculture-focused company based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for an immediate short-term 2-3 month project. Dominant focus will be supporting the CFO analyzing business results and developing recommendations for opportunities and creating presentations for management review. All financial issues will be managed by the Senior Financial Analyst consultant that includes business or project analysis, planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting. You will need to provide decision-making support for future company investments, as well as perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments in support of public reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Provide dynamic support for all ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests
- Help create sustainable business, operational, and financial processes to be understood by all necessary teams
- Execute monthly and quarterly reporting to senior management by analyzing financial results, synthesizing/distilling key trends, assessing future and current business risks, and articulating critical updates
- Analyze financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in making budget and operating decisions.
- Drive improved management reporting - work with Operations and Accounting to more discreetly and accurately track financial results
- Create management reporting by evaluating financial results, distilling and synthesizing issues, and articulating key updates to management. Produce ad-hoc reporting, dashboards, updates, and analyses to support the objectives of the Company.
- Build sophisticated and integrated business models with income statement, balance sheet and cash flows and presentations with charts and graphs to illustrate results and make complex decisions.
- Work closely with the CFO to evaluate and compare various financial analysis including analysis of mergers acquisitions, support of strategic decisions and technology/product selection and advancements. Also support risk management decisions including hedging activities.
- Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement
- Ability to apply critical thinking and critical decision making skills with management
- Experienced in management reporting
- Proficiency in forecasting and financial modeling, building forecasting models and analyzing and communicating business results.
- Budget forecasting experience required
- Proven knowledge of financial analysis
- Business analysis experience highly desired
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Practical knowledge of SAP helpful
- Applicants are required to hold a Finance or Accounting degree.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- CPA preferred
- Public company experience preferred
