Description
Controller/Director of Finance for well-respected non-profit organization in Midland, TX

? Responsible for accounting, general ledger and all financial operations of the organization while ensuring that systems are in place to guarantee timeliness and accuracy.
? Utilizes technology to optimize all reporting and analytical functions.
? Ensures that Centers meets all regulatory and compliance benchmarks.
? Develops and analyzes the accounting information to assess results of performance against budget, cash flow projections and all matters related to the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of Centers.
? Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, maintains all control procedures, analyzes and reports variances.
? Furnishes accurate and timely financial reports to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, the Board of Directors and its Finance Committee and other committees, as needed.
? Provides information used in the preparation of all grant applications and fundraising activities. Meets with potential donors/funders as needed to discuss the financial stability of the organization.
? Responsible for compliance with taxing entities and agency contracts.
? Prepares for and coordinates annual independent audits.
? Reviews data to analyze revenue trends, expenses, makes projections and provides financial input on decision-making issues.
? Oversees a system of internal controls including evaluating and implementing financial policies, procedures and standards.
? Participates in the implementation of accounting systems.
? Ensures computers, data, programs and servers are safe, in accordance with contracts.
? Negotiates all banking activities, employee insurances and retirement accounts and develops relationships with all responsible entities.
? Manages the organizational cash flow.
? Ensures the maintenance of financial record systems in accordance with GAO principles and monitors the use of all funds.
? Responsible for the data entry and management of payroll, income and expenditures of the agency.
? Works closely with program directors, billing staff and the development office staff.
? Other duties as assigned
Requirements
? Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
? 5 ? 10 years of broad financial experience, preferably with a nonprofit.
? Strong analytical skills
? People-focused with excellent oral and written communication skills.
? Experience in managing budgets and meeting deadlines.
? Innovative, results-oriented, energetic and able to multi-task.
? Flexible self-manager, collaborator.
? Computer fluency in QuickBooks, MS Office, accounting database software/ web applications.
