Description
Financial Analyst
Robert Half Finance is seeking an extraordinary Financial Analyst to join a Construction/Contractor company. In this role, you will conduct financial modeling on a range of financial products and measure, analyze, and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing reports for management and advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives. Your responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of econometric and statistical methods to apply to forecasting
- Ensure efficiency during the strategy and business planning process
- An ideal candidate should be highly flexible, comfortable with large amounts of information, and adept at managing expectations
- Work closely within the Marketing and Customer Success organizations. Establish trust and quickly develop an understanding of the key drivers of business, economic trends and core metrics
- Understand and be able to explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
- Work alongside cross-functional partners in Accounting, Recruiting, People, and Operations to see the proper execution of plans
- Drive Area/Segment level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis, as well as P L forecasting
- Deliver effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide valuable foresight and decision support
- Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives through the development of financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
- Keep track of monthly and quarterly performance by comparing actuals versus expectations and enabling business partners to handle their resources in the best way possible
- Provide analytical support during New Year readiness/Year End planning cycle
- Work on monthly and quarterly financial close processes in collaboration with the Accounting team
- Survey performance to date and assess potential opportunities and risks
- Develop monthly reports to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required
Requirements
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
- Strong familiarity with forecasting
- Financial analysis experience
- Budgeting experience desired
- Go-to-market experience or experience at a top investment bank is desirable
- Familiarity with Hyperion reporting products required
- Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
- Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- 2+ years of experience in a highly quantitative role
- BA/BS degree from a top-tier university with strong academic performance
- Grasp of Microsoft Excel and computer skills (prior experience programming is highly sought after)
