Description
This position supports the organization and its personnel by providing help and advice regarding software use, and by working directly on system implementation, maintenance and upgrades. The person in this role is the second tier line of support on software issues; they support the information systems (IS) employees within the organization and assist users who are having software and application related problems. This is a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits package offered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Support Lead will be primarily responsible for second tier line customer support for the firm and its employees including lawyers, managers and support staff. Problem solving, active listening, and creative thinking to find solutions will be necessary to perform this role successfully.

The Technical Support Lead will test and evaluate existing networking systems, performing regular maintenance, upgrades and analysis to ensure that the firm?s networks are operating correctly. Troubleshooting of networks, and systems, and implementing solutions is necessary. This role encompasses a variety of recovery tasks and will solve technical problems quickly and effectively when they arise.

The Technical Support Lead will work as part of a team under the IS Director to resolve high-priority issues, working independently on routine, or lower-priority, problems as needed. This requires working well in situations that may, at times, be high pressure (urgent troubleshooting of systems or processes) while making decisions quickly ? sometimes with limited information.

The Technical Support Lead may also be required to train users and first tier support personal on the use of new hardware or software, or on new features of existing software. Documentation of new processes, procedure and solutions will be required to be created and stored in IS knowledge base.

QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate for this position will have a bachelor?s degree in computer science or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in computer science or a related field. Law firm experience is desirable but not required. The candidate will also have strong technology skills, be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook that operate with a document management system. Experience with Aderant legal software including Compulaw and Expert Practice Management is preferred. Strong communication skills are necessary, as is a problem solving mindset. The candidate for this role must have good organizational and analytical skills, be able to handle multiple demands, prioritize tasks and handle the pressure of meeting deadlines, and be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, possessing excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
