Our client in the Real Estate Property industry has a short term temporary Staff Accountant opportunity to cover a maternity leave. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Your responsibilities
- Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
- Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
- Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in Accounting
- Bachelor?s degree in Accounting/Finance
- Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
- Accountable for specific performance and accurate.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
- Intuitive analytical skills to proactively address and identify any issues
- Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
