Description
Join an established, social e-commerce startup as an Assistant Controller. The Senior Global Accounting Manager reports to the Corporate Controller and will manage the reporting and consolidation of our global financial statements. This position will manage reporting to internal and external parties and investors and work closely with business partners to build the financial reporting infrastructure that will support our dynamic, growing company. The role provides technical accounting guidance and support to the finance, tax and other management groups across the company's global operations.

This position is very hands-on which requires a detail oriented personality, but also the ability to see the big picture and provide analytical insight to the business results that management can rely on to make informed decisions. Requirements
Responsibilities:
? Manages global consolidated financial statement reporting and works closely with cross functional business partners on reporting requirements including gathering of supporting documentation and preparation and review of financials, including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow schedules and reports.
? Provides technical accounting advice, research and support to ensure that the Company complies with the latest reporting requirements.
? Manages a wide range of accounting and reporting areas which includes revenue recognition and analysis, gross margin analysis, cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, intercompany and other general ledger reconciliation and close process management.
? Involvement in statutory and legal entity accounting and liaising with Tax and the European finance team in resolving issues related to our statutory filings in various jurisdictions.
? Establishes system rules and accounting structure for financial consolidation and in our Great Plains financial system and other reporting systems, or its successor financial system.
? Responsible for the preparation of internal and external financial statements, related footnotes, Board deck and associated backup supporting schedules as required.
? Collaborate closely with other finance managers to support overall department goals and objectives and work closely with business partners inside and outside of finance with regard to financial results, special reporting requests and special projects.
? Drive process improvements and optimize efficiencies in the accounting and reporting areas, including elimination or streamlining of manual or non-effective tasks.
? Act as key liaison to the external auditors and has primary responsibility to resolve audit issues and ensure successful and timely completion of our required audits.
? Responsible for updating/reviewing of accounting policies and procedures and maintaining compliance with internal controls over financial reporting.
? Responsible for banking administration functions, including set up of bank accounts, user administration and approval of disbursements.
? Manage and motivate a staff of two to three accountants in support of the above areas. Take responsibility for their development and assist them in setting goals.

Qualifications:
? Bachelor?s degree in Accounting
? 7+ years accounting related experience
? Accounting experience to include 2 years working in consolidations/reporting with a mid-sized or large, public, multi-national corporation (preferred)
? 2-3 years of management experience
? In depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including familiarity with accounting positions and related guidance provided by SEC, in areas like Consolidations, Revenue Recognition, Foreign Currency Accounting, Impairment, Capitalization of Internally Developed Software, Equity
? Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
? Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
? Experience with Great Plains/FRx software a plus
? Big Four (4) public accounting experience preferred
