Description
Looking to take the next step in your accounting career? Check out this fantastic opportunity for a Staff Accountant through Accountemps at a dynamic firm in the Healthcare/NHS industry. In this role, you will have responsibility over the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be your reponsibility. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Atwater, California based firm has a short-term temporary position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.

What you get to do every day

- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

- Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

- Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Partake in annual closing processes

- Participate in various department-wide initiatives

- Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Requirements
- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

- 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

- Strong familiarity with project accounting

- Microsoft Excel experience desired

- Command of finance

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Self-starter and strong ethical standards

- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

- Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Competent with spreadsheets and databases

- Proficient in ERP systems
