Robert Half Technology is looking or a Network Administrator for a locally based financial services organization. The Network Administrator will work under direction of the Infrastructure Management Supervisor, plans and coordinates the design, installation, and maintenance of IT Assets; including system administration within a virtual environment, network and telecommunications management, storage administration, user support and security administration with direction from Security Engineer. Plans and coordinates assigned activities with other team members, departments and outside agencies.

Duties include:

Collaborate with and lead technical team members to assess near and long term server and network capacity needs;
Design and implement strategic plans to ensure systems meet existing and future requirements;
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, network mapping, processes and service records;
Maintain systems as per policies, procedures, and governing bodies;
Maintains associated training plans for system administration, usage and disaster recovery;
Conduct testing and development of disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize risks and backup systems;
Design and support VoIP infrastructure and associated software, including IP-PBXs, call management systems, voicemail, auto dialers and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems;
Create, maintain, and document system architecture; including design, configuration, protocols and standards;
Design and deploy company LANS, WANS, and WLANS;
Conduct research on products, services, protocols and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry;
Plan and implement system improvements or replacement of system infrastructure;
Oversee new and existing hardware and software upgrades;
Oversee good network management practices including development and implementation of wiring, configuration standards, connectivity solutions, overall network operating systems, network software, server hardware configuration, network file systems/directory structure, network performance, and LAN/WAN system integrity and security;
Plan, implement and monitor network security, including maintaining firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, file system integrity, adding and deleting system users, and monitoring device and system security logs and event notifications;
Provide second and third tier administrative support of the system infrastructure;
Optimize system availability, functionality, security, and performance for multiple and shared systems to improve performance and reliability of the networks;
Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for network systems; identify resource needs; recommend and implement policies and procedures;
Train network system personnel;
Coordinate with the Supervisor of Infrastructure in identifying opportunities for improving network service delivery methods and procedures; review with appropriate management staff; implement improvements;
Install and support network computer software; configure software; troubleshoot and diagnose problems; maintain and upgrade software; test and evaluate new software;
Design reports on network performance metrics that will help identify any problems, and identify when the network is reaching capacity;
The successful Network Administrator will have Five+ years of increasingly responsible information network experience.

Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, data processing, or a related field. Certifications: MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA, VCP, CompTIA, Security, and/or Cisco certifications preferred but not required.
Experience with VMware, VDI and Cisco networking
