This role will work closely with various internal stakeholders, including the CIO and Trader, on daily trading-related matters. Eventually, this position offers the opportunity to become an execution trader.</p><p> </p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">The Role</span></strong></p><ul><li>Trade Execution and Support: Assist the portfolio manager and senior trader in executing trades across multiple asset classes, including equities and derivatives. Monitor market conditions and analyze price movements to provide real-time insights that optimize trading decisions.</li><li>Tool Development and Automation: Design, develop, and maintain trading tools, scripts, and algorithms using Python or JavaScript. Automate repetitive processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reliability within trading systems.</li><li>Trade Life Cycle Management: Manage end-to-end trade processes such as short locates, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation. Serve as a backup for the operations team to ensure smooth and timely trade settlements.</li><li>Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze trading data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Contribute to the creation of innovative trading strategies and solutions that drive competitive advantage.</li><li>Shift Coordination and Coverage: Coordinate with the senior trader to ensure continuous market coverage during global trading hours (HKT 8:00 AM - 12:00 AM), demonstrating flexibility to extend hours as needed.</li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Your Profile</span></strong></p><ul><li>Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. Good coding skills are important.</li><li>Trading Knowledge: Basic understanding of financial markets, trading strategies, and asset types like stocks and derivatives. Experience with trading platforms (like Bloomberg) is a plus. A strong interest in financial markets is preferred.</li><li>Technical Skills: Skilled in Python or JavaScript. Experience with scripting, automation, or creating trading algorithms is a big advantage.</li><li>Analytical Thinking: Good at solving problems and understanding complex data to find useful insights. Detail-oriented and proactive.</li><li>Communication & Teamwork: Strong English and Mandarin speaking and writing skills.
