As part of this ongoing growth, we are seeking a Financial Controller to join the Cwmbran site on a 6-month contract, with the potential for a permanent opportunity thereafter.<h3 data-end="994" data-start="971">Role Overview</h3>The Financial Controller will play a key role in managing the financial operations of the UK business, ensuring accurate reporting, robust financial controls, and strong commercial support to senior management. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive and technically strong finance professional with manufacturing experience and a continuous improvement mindset.<h3 data-start="1374" data-end="1404">Key Responsibilities</h3><ul data-start="1405" data-end="2415"><li data-end="1562" data-start="1405">Lead and manage all aspects of the finance function for the Cwmbran site, including financial reporting, management accounting, and statutory compliance.</li><li data-start="1563" data-end="1700">Produce accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgets, providing clear analysis and commentary to senior stakeholders.</li><li data-start="1701" data-end="1799">Ensure compliance with group accounting policies, internal controls, and relevant legislation.</li><li data-start="1800" data-end="1900">Manage cash flow, working capital, and cost control initiatives to support business performance.</li><li data-start="1901" data-end="2011">Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and drive process improvements and efficiency.</li><li data-end="2101" data-start="2012">Support audit processes (internal and external) and liaise with auditors as required.</li><li data-end="2203" data-start="2102">Oversee the finance team, ensuring effective development, motivation, and performance management.</li><li data-start="2204" data-end="2318">Contribute to strategic and operational decision-making through high-quality financial analysis and reporting.</li><li data-start="2319" data-end="2415">Participate in and lead finance transformation or systems improvement projects where needed.</li></ul><h3 data-end="2459" data-start="2422">Qualifications & Experience</h3><ul data-start="3215" data-end="3590"><li data-end="2525" data-start="2460">Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).</li><li data-start="2526" data-end="2667">Proven experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.</li><li data-start="2668" data-end="2767">Strong understanding of cost accounting, stock management, and manufacturing finance processes.</li><li data-end="2857" data-start="2768">Excellent knowledge of financial systems and ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, or similar).</li><li data-start="2858" data-end="2926">Demonstrable experience of leading and developing finance teams.</li><li data-end="3041" data-start="2927">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.</li><li data-end="3098" data-start="3042">High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.</li><li data-start="3099" data-end="3182">Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, global business.</li></ul> Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
