Emerging professionals, known as Generation Z, have just recently or will soon take their first steps on their career path. Born in the 1990s, they have been described as “the reality-check generation” and will make up 20 percent of the total workforce by 2020. We recently released our latest guide, Get Ready for Generation Z, which includes key insights on how to hire and retain this group of professionals.
To conduct research for the guide, Robert Half teamed up with Enactus, an entrepreneurial-oriented community of student, academic and business leaders, to survey more than 775 student members of Enactus. Marilyn Bird, district president for Robert Half, was featured on Chicago’s WGN-TV’s Midday News in a segment highlighting our new Generation Z research. She noted a few surprising findings about Gen Zers, including: “They want stability, an income they can build a career on, and face-to-face collaboration.”
