- We are looking for an Accountant to join an investment firm in Toronto, Ontario on a Contract basis. - We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to support corporate accounting and financial reporting activities for a real estate and property organization in Richmond Hill, Ontario. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for an accounting specialist who enjoys working across multiple finance functions and contributing to accurate, timely reporting. The successful candidate will play an important role in period-end close, account analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage month-end and year-end accounting tasks, including preparing reconciliations, recording accruals, tracking prepaid expenses, and posting necessary reclassifications within required timelines.<br>• Prepare financial statements, account analyses, and supporting working papers for assigned corporate entities and balance sheet accounts.<br>• Record, review, and reconcile recurring corporate accounting entries such as operating expenses and intercompany activity.<br>• Partner with teams across property accounting, treasury, accounts payable, financial planning and analysis, and asset management to support complete and accurate financial results.<br>• Investigate variances and resolve accounting discrepancies by reviewing supporting data and following up with relevant stakeholders.<br>• Contribute to stronger financial controls by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance reporting quality, and increase process efficiency through better use of systems and automation.<br>• Maintain well-organized documentation to support internal reporting requirements and year-end audit readiness.
