This role plays a key part in maintaining strong cash flow and ensuring timely payment from our customer base while balancing service excellence and collection discipline.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Monitor and analyze customer accounts to identify those requiring follow-up and to track compliance with payment terms.</li><li>Partner with teams across Canada and the U.S. to manage outstanding receivables and enforce credit limits.</li><li>Execute strategic collection efforts using best-in-class practices to minimize overdue balances.</li><li>Communicate with leadership, including Controllers and department heads, regarding accounts of concern that may necessitate escalated actions such as legal involvement or write-offs.</li><li>Deliver a customer-focused approach while applying effective collection strategies on all outbound communications.</li><li>Facilitate weekly status meetings to provide updates to stakeholders on collection efforts, short payments, returned payments, account escalations, and issue resolutions.</li><li>Supervise the cash application function, ensuring timely and accurate allocation of customer payments.</li><li>Evaluate longstanding accounts and propose suitable action plans.</li><li>Assist with asset recovery and third-party collections when necessary.</li><li>Liaise with external agencies and legal representatives in cases involving liens, bankruptcies, or legal escalations.</li><li>Maintain the bad debt portfolio, ensuring accurate documentation and regular reviews.</li><li>Perform account reconciliations, adjustments, and resolve billing disputes or discrepancies.</li><li>Compile regular AR performance reports and actively contribute to working capital management meetings.</li><li>Achieve or exceed established metrics related to collections, bad debt, and delinquency reduction.</li></ul>
