- <p>Our client is seeking a Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator to support transportation operations across multiple facilities. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational and analytical skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Working closely with Procurement, Operations, Production, Sales, suppliers, and transportation providers, you will coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, monitor freight performance, resolve logistical challenges, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Transportation Coordination</strong></p><ul><li>Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of bulk commodities, packaged ingredients, and finished products.</li><li>Schedule and track shipments by truckload, LTL, rail, intermodal, ocean container, and bulk tanker.</li><li>Coordinate delivery appointments and ensure suppliers, carriers, and internal teams are aligned on schedules and requirements.</li><li>Monitor shipments, communicate delays, resolve transportation issues, and maintain accurate shipping documentation.</li></ul><p><strong>Rail, Intermodal & Ocean Freight</strong></p><ul><li>Coordinate railcar and container movements, vessel schedules, and equipment returns.</li><li>Work with Operations and Production to support timely unloading and minimize demurrage and detention costs.</li><li>Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, ports, drayage providers, and carriers to support import clearance and timely deliveries.</li><li>Ensure transportation and import documentation is complete and accurate.</li></ul><p><strong>Transportation Planning & Carrier Management</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Develop transportation schedules aligned with production needs, inventory levels, and customer commitments.</li><li>Work with Procurement to secure transportation capacity for incoming materials.</li><li>Obtain and compare freight rates, support carrier selection and negotiations, and maintain strong provider relationships.</li><li>Monitor carrier performance, freight costs, transit times, and service reliability.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve truck utilization, reduce empty miles, and optimize transportation resources.</li></ul><p><strong>Reporting & Continuous Improvement</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain transportation reports, dashboards, scorecards, and key performance indicators.</li><li>Analyze freight costs, on-time delivery, carrier performance, and equipment utilization to identify savings and service improvements.</li><li>Use Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and ERP systems to improve reporting and transportation visibility.</li><li>Support process improvements, automation, and AI-assisted reporting tools.</li></ul><p><strong>Receiving & Inventory Support</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate receiving records and inventory transactions.</li><li>Investigate shipment discrepancies, damaged goods, and missing documentation with internal teams.</li><li>Participate in inventory counts and support inventory accuracy.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p>
