How commonly companies award promotions without salary increases, according to HR managers:

Very common 2018: 6% 2011: 3%
Somewhat common 2018: 33% 2011: 19%
Not common at all 2018: 40% 2011: 63%
We don’t offer promotions without raises 2018: 20% 2011: 14%
Don’t know/no answer 2018: 0% 2011: 1%

Workers willing to accept a promotion that doesn’t include a raise:

In 2011, 55% of workers said they’d take a promotion without a raise.

According to HR managers, employees are promoted after 2 years and 5 months in a position, on average.
