National Payroll Week

United States: (September 5-9, 2016)

National Payroll Week celebrates the hard work by America's 150 million wage earners and the payroll professionals who pay them. Together, through the payroll withholding system, they contribute, collect, report and deposit approximately US $2.2 trillion, or 67 percent, of the annual revenue of the U.S. Treasury.

National Payroll Week is a celebration on many levels. Payroll professionals not only work long hours to guarantee that you get your paycheck on time, but they also have the task of keeping up with ever-changing federal, state and local regulations to ensure that employers avoid costly penalties. These men and women truly are responsible for the lifeblood of America's workers – their paychecks!

Additionally, National Payroll Week focuses attention on the payroll withholding system, and how wage earners can use it to help achieve their individual goals. It also provides an annual opportunity to take pride in the vital role of the payroll profession and for workers to learn more about their paychecks and payroll withholding. Information on helping workers better understand the many ways they can boost the power of their paycheck and how they can get involved and celebrate National Payroll Week are available at
